Book Reviews

The New One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard & Spencer Johnson

One Minute Manager

About the Book

I appreciate a solid, short book.

The New One Minute Manager ticks both these boxes!

At just 96 pages long, I was able to power through it in a little over an hour and there were plenty of useful insights.

(Some unbelievably obvious ones, at that!)

Here are just a splattering of my favourites.

Favourite Passages:

  • “A problem only exists if there is a difference between what is actually happening and what you desire to be happening… If you can’t tell me what you’d like to be happening, you don’t have a problem. You’re just complaining.” The First Secret: One Minute Goals

  • “The best minute I spend is the one I invest in people.” The New One Minute Manager Explains

  • “Everyone is a potential winner. Some people are disguised as losers. Don’t let their their appearances fool you.” Why One Minute Goals Work

  • “Take a minute to look at your goals. Then look at what you’re doing and see if it matches your goals.” Why One Minute Goals Work

Star Rating:

No complaints with this one.

I’ve gained plenty of insights from it, and at just over an hour from start to finish, I’d say it’s a good invest of anyone’s time!
